Fatal Pedestrian Crash on I-235: Des Moines Police Seek Witnesses
Des Moines police have identified the pedestrian who died after being hit by a vehicle on Interstate 235 as 27-year-old Derrius Robinson. The incident occurred between Guthrie and Euclid avenues, and despite a preliminary investigation finding no fault with the driver, Robinson succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. This tragic incident adds to the rising number of fatalities on Iowa roads, with 270 deaths recorded so far this year, 30 more than at the same point in 2022. Additionally, 16 pedestrians have been killed in crashes this year, compared to 17 last year.
