Fatal Stabbings at Lisbon's Ismaili Muslim Center Investigated as Possible Terror Attack.
Two women were killed and several others injured in a stabbing at an Islamic centre in Lisbon, Portugal. The attacker, a widowed Afghan refugee and father of three, has been taken into custody after being shot by police. The deceased have not yet been officially identified, and a terrorist attack is suspected but not confirmed. Portugal is generally considered a safe country and does not experience a high level of crime or Islamophobic attacks. The Ismaili Centre, where the attack took place, was opened by Prince Karim Aga Khan in 1998 and has exhibition spaces, classrooms, and prayer halls.
