Connecticut ATM Jackpotting Ring Snags $529K, Four Charged in Federal Case
Four Venezuelan nationals were charged in federal court for a jackpotting scheme that drained about $529,000 from at least eight Connecticut ATMs in August 2025. The group used malware and physical access to trigger withdrawals, with one patched ATM thwarting the theft. They were arrested in June 2026 and face up to 10 years for interstate transportation of stolen property and up to five years for conspiracy.
