Dive-team tragedy claims Lexington County deputy on Lake Murray training
Master Deputy Jillian Olson, 29, died during underwater dive-team training on Lake Murray in Lexington County. The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources is leading the investigation, with assistance from SLED and the county coroner’s office reviewing the cause of death. Olson joined the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department in 2021, was promoted to master deputy in 2025, and had served on the dive team since 2024.
