DNC Autopsy Author Linked to NY Senate Chaos
Democrats tapped Paul Rivera, a strategist with ties to the Obama-era New York Senate chaos led by John Sampson (who was later convicted of fraud), to author the 2024 party autopsy. Rivera, once a Sampson lieutenant during a dysfunctional 2009–2010 period in Albany, helped craft the report that drew intense criticism from party aides and alumni. Ken Martin apologized for the document, but longtime New York Democrats remain wary of that era as they assess the party’s losses and the autopsy’s omissions, including debates around Israel/Gaza and Biden’s role.
