
Sevier County Police Shootout Leaves One Dead and K-9 Injured
A Sevierville Police K-9 named Hank was shot while assisting officers attempting to make an arrest in Sevier County, Tennessee. The shooting involved officers and left one person dead and one injured. Two sheriff's deputies and a city officer were transported for minor, non-gunshot-related injuries. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is handling the case. A 2022 Tennessee law called the "Joker's Law" specifically addresses anyone knowingly killing or causing serious injury to a police dog.
