Bears land explosive Georgia Tech DT Jordan van den Berg at 213

The Chicago Bears traded up into the sixth round to draft Georgia Tech defensive tackle Jordan van den Berg at No. 213, acquiring the pick from Buffalo in exchange for two seventh-round selections. Van den Berg, a South Africa–born lineman who played at Penn State and Georgia Tech, appeared in 54 games with 93 tackles, 20.0 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks, and posted strong Pro Day numbers (225 pounds x 35, 4.9-second 40, 9-foot-11 broad jump, 36-inch vertical). Bears scouts described him as explosive and a good fit for their defense, and Van den Berg said he’s eager to learn from veteran Grady Jarrett.
