"Legal Consequences for Jan. 6 Rioters and Their Supporters"

U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth plans to send a written response to supporters of a Jan. 6 rioter, warning them against justifying political violence and emphasizing that the Capitol riot must not become a precedent for further violence. Lamberth filed his statement on the public docket and will mail copies to 20 people who wrote letters supporting the defendant.
