Former President Trump criticizes the limited number of strikes allowed for vetoing potential jurors in his hush money trial, claiming they were supposed to be unlimited. "Legal Consequences for Jan. 6 Rioters and Their Supporters"

U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth plans to send a written response to supporters of a Jan. 6 rioter, warning them against justifying political violence and emphasizing that the Capitol riot must not become a precedent for further violence. Lamberth filed his statement on the public docket and will mail copies to 20 people who wrote letters supporting the defendant. The judge's move comes amid a wider public push by federal judges in Washington to counter an uptick in public acceptance of the violent breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
