Novo Taps Kallyope for Three Novel Obesity Programs
Novo Nordisk is expanding its obesity portfolio by acquiring three external programs from Kallyope: a lead peptide (K-554) that’s IND-ready, plus a follow-on small molecule for a novel target and a small-molecule receptor agonist. The deal adds non-incretin approaches to Novo’s obesity pipeline, with financial terms undisclosed. This follows Novo’s renewed push to diversify its pipeline alongside a separate $1.4 billion biobucks pact with Orbis Medicines, and amid recent setbacks in other programs such as ziltivekimab.
