USDA Recalls 1.5M Pounds of Kayem Meat Products Over Temperature Failures
The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced a nationwide recall of 1,584,361 pounds of ready-to-eat meat and poultry products from Massachusetts-based Kayem Foods Inc. The recall, triggered by a customer complaint about warm product temperatures on October 1, 2026, stems from 'temperature abuse' in a warehouse cooler. Affected items, produced between March 31 and October 7, 2026, include hot dogs, bacon, deli meats, and sausages sold under brands such as Kayem, Al Fresco, and McKenzie. No illnesses have been reported, but consumers are urged to discard or return the products.
