Shark Attack at Honolulu's Kewalo Basin Beach
A 58-year-old surfer was bitten by a shark on his right leg while surfing at Kewalos off Kewalo Basin Harbor in Honolulu. The victim was hospitalized in serious condition. The south shore beaches are known for their globally famous surf spots. Hawaii accounted for five unprovoked shark attacks last year. Local authorities have posted signs warning beachgoers of the danger.
