AMC Quietly Closes The Walking Dead Profit Saga with $120 Million Settlement
AMC has resolved a 13-year profit-participation dispute over The Walking Dead by agreeing to pay $120 million to creator Robert Kirkman and producers Glen Mazzara, David Alpert, Charles Eglee, and Gale Anne Hurd—$85 million now and $35 million next year—ending lawsuits that dated to 2013 and 2017 over profits from The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead, and Talking Dead; the move follows earlier Darabont–CAA settlements and comes as the franchise remains lucrative, with a Netflix deal worth about $500 million.
