Nurmagomedov vows comeback after KO setback in Shanghai
Umar Nurmagomedov suffered his first knockout defeat, stopped by Song Yadong in the second round at UFC Shanghai, ending his two-fight win streak. In a social media post hours after the bout, the Russian bantamweight said he’s fine, will learn from the setback, and will return stronger, with Khabib Nurmagomedov watching from the corner. He now has two losses in his last four fights, including a decision to Merab Dvalishvili, and while regarded as a top fighter, his more measured style could slow his march back to a title shot if he can’t deliver highlight-worthy performances.
