"Devastating Floods Force Mass Evacuations in Russia and Kazakhstan"
Mass evacuations are underway in Russia's Kurgan and Tyumen regions, as well as parts of Kazakhstan, due to severe flooding caused by rapid snowmelt and heavy rain. Tens of thousands have fled their homes, with the Tobol River reaching 20.7 feet in the main city of Kurgan. Authorities are urging immediate evacuation from flooded areas, with over 7,100 people already evacuated and more than 4,300 homes threatened. Kazakhstan has also been heavily affected, with over 108,000 evacuations and the city of Petropavlovsk seeing over 1,000 homes submerged.
