Twins Select College Shortstops Culpepper and DeBarge in First Round
The Minnesota Twins selected college shortstops Kaelen Culpepper from Kansas State and Kyle DeBarge from Louisiana-Lafayette with their first-round picks in the 2024 MLB Draft. Culpepper, picked 21st overall, is known for his strong hitting and speed, while DeBarge, picked 33rd overall, had a breakout junior season with significant power. The Twins also picked Tennessee slugger Billy Amick and Texas high school pitcher Dasan Hill in the second round and competitive balance round, respectively.
