The Dangers of Black Widow Spider Bites and Misuse.
Black widow spider bites can be dangerous, but not always fatal. The venom contains neurotoxic proteins that can cause symptoms ranging from mild pain to a syndrome called latrodectism, characterized by muscle pain and cramping, rapid pulse, breathing difficulties, and raised blood pressure. While most people won't experience life-threatening effects, pre-existing conditions and allergies can complicate treatment, so immediate medical care is recommended.
