"Lawmen: Bass Reeves - The Real Inspiration Behind the Lone Ranger"
Paramount+ has released a new Western drama series called Lawmen: Bass Reeves, executive produced by Taylor Sheridan, the creator of Yellowstone. The show follows the life of Bass Reeves, the first Black Deputy US Marshal west of the Mississippi River, as he hunts down fugitives in Arkansas' "Indian Territory." Despite fans' hopes for a connection to the Yellowstone universe, Lawmen: Bass Reeves is not connected to Sheridan's other series. The show is part of an anthology series focusing on different law enforcement officers throughout history. Paramount has also announced two new spinoffs, titled 1944 and 2024, with the latter believed to be a sequel to Yellowstone starring Matthew McConaughey.
