Former Teachers Face Multiple Rape and Sexual Abuse Charges in Different States
A former special education teacher at Legacy Early College in Greenville, South Carolina, has been extradited to Delaware to face 20 rape charges for allegations from 2014. Reed Messer, 42, is accused of having a sexual relationship with a student while working at Stanton Middle School in Wilmington, Delaware. Messer was certified as a teacher in South Carolina in 2015 and worked at Legacy Early College from 2018 until she was fired in January 2023. She is being held on a $310,000 bond.
