In Ohio, a smoke shop manager, Tony Thacker, was indicted on multiple charges, including felonious assault, after fatally shooting a teenage robbery suspect. Hamilton County Prosecutor Melissa Powers warned that robbers should "expect to be shot" at retail stores, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy for retail thefts. The incident involved Thacker shooting at suspects fleeing the scene, which the prosecutor deemed unjustifiable. Additionally, the 19-year-old robbery suspect, Amontae Carter, faces murder and burglary charges, and three teenagers were also charged with murder and burglary in connection to the case.
