Local Community Mourns Linda Simmons After Battle with Cancer
Linda M. Simmons, 56, of Carthage, died February 13, 2026 after a courageous cancer battle. A native of Ogdensburg and longtime food-service professional, she worked at St. Lawrence University and was active in the Northern New York Shuffleboard Association and the Order of the Eastern Star Bethany Chapter 343. She is survived by her longtime partner Kirk S. Davis, his daughter Christina, five siblings, two grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Services are being held at Bruce Funeral Home with calling hours February 21 and a 4:00 p.m. service; burial will be in Purmort Cemetery in DePeyster in the spring.
