Looney Tunes Legal Comedy Trailer Sets Coyote’s Case for Theaters
The trailer for Coyote vs. Acme, a long-delayed live‑action/animation hybrid, drops ahead of its theatrical debut on August 28, 2026. The movie, directed by Dave Green with Will Forte as Wile E. Coyote’s attorney and John Cena facing off as opposing counsel, mixes courtroom comedy with the Looney Tunes universe. Based on a 1990 New Yorker article, the screenplay by Samy Burch reimagines a legal case against the Acme Corporation; the project was originally developed for HBO Max and finished with about a $70 million budget before Warner Bros. canceled it in 2023. It was later sold to Ketchup Entertainment in 2025, reviving its release plans for a global theatrical run this summer.
