John Frieda, the British hairstylist who created iconic looks for royals and celebrities and built the Frizz Ease brand into a global empire, has died at age 75. His passing was announced by his London salon, which described him as a 'true icon' of the industry. Frieda, born Alan Howard Frieda in 1951, styled clients including Princess Diana, Madonna, and Jackie Kennedy Onassis. He launched the Frizz Ease line in 1988 and sold his hair care company to Japanese conglomerate Kao for $450 million in 2002. He is survived by his wife, four children, and two grandchildren. The cause of death was not disclosed.
