Ayami Sato Heads to the US for Historic Women’s Pro Baseball Debut
Ayami Sato, widely regarded as the greatest pitcher in women’s baseball, will make her U.S. debut with the Los Angeles Queens in the new Women’s Professional Baseball League, a four-team, centralized-season league launching in Springfield, Illinois. With a near-80 mph fastball, multiple World Cup MVPs, six gold medals with Japan, and a 2024 Canadian pro debut, Sato brings veteran leadership and a meticulous, fundamentals-based approach to help unite top players from around the world as pro women’s baseball takes hold in the United States.
