Louisiana Officials Sign NDAs in SpaceX's Vermilion Parish Push
Louisiana Economic Development and more than 20 public officials signed NDAs to keep SpaceX’s Vermilion Parish spaceport talks secret amid a reported $100 billion project that could create about 3,000 permanent jobs. The NDAs involve multiple state agencies (DOTD, DEQ, CPRA, PSC) and local leaders, with LED releasing 31 NDAs after Governor Jeff Landry announced the plan. While supporters say NDAs help secure major investments, transparency advocates warn they curb public oversight as the state moves forward with SpaceX’s “Project Osprey” next to wildlife refuges on a large parcel bought from ExxonMobil for $100 million.
