Hendrick Motorsports and Kaulig Racing face severe penalties from NASCAR.
Hendrick Motorsports will appeal the penalties handed down to its four NASCAR Cup Series teams after louvers on their race cars were identified during a voluntary inspection. The team has not asked for a deferral of the four-race suspensions of its four crew chiefs, which will begin this weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway. NASCAR officials fined Hendrick Motorsports a total of $400,000 and docked all four teams 100 points and 10 playoff points, and three of its drivers were docked 100 driver points.
