Amanita Design Reveals Machinarium 2, a Long-Awaited Sequel to the 2009 Cult Classic
Czech studio Amanita Design has officially announced Machinarium 2, a surprise sequel to their 2009 point-and-click adventure. The new game follows characters Josef and Berta as they crash-land in a region called the Barrens, where they must navigate a hidden valley inhabited by two distinct robot tribes. The sequel retains the series' signature wordless storytelling and hand-drawn animation style, allowing players to switch between the two protagonists to solve puzzles. While no release date has been confirmed, the announcement includes a trailer and a Steam store page, marking the first major return for the franchise in 17 years.
