Paul Rodgers Overcomes Strokes and Surgery, Defies Odds to Sing Again
Paul Rodgers, the frontman of Free and Bad Company, revealed that he suffered 11 minor strokes and two major strokes, leaving him unable to speak. After undergoing major surgery to remove plaque clogging an artery, which posed a risk to his vocal cords, Rodgers slowly recovered and was able to return to the studio to record his new album, 'Midnight Rose'. His wife described hearing him sing again as "amazing" and "phenomenal". The album marks his first solo release in nearly 25 years and is described as a celebration of his career and a hopeful look towards the future.
