Vienna Heist: Million-Dollar Necklace Stolen From MAK After Ticketed Entry
Two men entered Vienna's Museum of Applied Arts (MAK) by buying tickets, smashed a display case and fled with a 200-carat platinum-and-diamond Van Cleef & Arpels necklace worth millions; they were not masked and were captured on surveillance cameras. The piece, part of a Van Cleef & Arpels exhibition with about 500 items, had been on display since June and the wing reopened shortly after the theft as investigators probe the incident.
