The donation comes from the $1 million he was awarded in his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard. Depp is also expected to donate an equal amount to other charities. The Make a Film Foundation representative praised Depp as "one of the most generous people we've ever worked with." Both Depp and Heard have returned to the spotlight after their courtroom showdown.
