Miami Weathered Wake Forest Push to a 33-20 Win
Miami built a 24-7 halftime lead and 31-7 early in the third, then withstood a Wake Forest rally to win 33-20. Darian Mensah went 30-for-34 for 220 yards and 3 TDs, Malachi Toney had 12 receptions for 114 yards and a TD, and Mark Fletcher added 85 rushing yards and a TD. A Wake punt return near midfield was nullified by a holding call, and a late end-zone safety on a Wake holding penalty helped seal the game. Marty Brown left with a knee injury, and Miami’s defense harassed Wake with three sacks. The Hurricanes must clean up the second half to stay on track.
