Coroner Questions Baumeister's Solitude, Scrutinizes Goodyear's Silence
Hamilton County Coroner Jeff Jellison is renewing efforts to identify victims of suspected serial killer Herb Baumeister, questioning whether Baumeister acted alone. Jellison has publicly criticized Mark Goodyear, the only known survivor, for providing dishonest information during recent interviews. While Goodyear has denied involvement, Jellison believes the former's knowledge of gay nightclub networks could help identify the remaining 9,000+ unexamined bone fragments. The investigation highlights the difficulty of matching remains to identities without prior missing-person reports, a challenge Jellison compares to the World Trade Center recovery but notes is more complex due to the lack of initial data.
