Master Lock is closing its manufacturing plant in Milwaukee after nearly a century, resulting in the loss of 330 jobs. The United Auto Workers (UAW) Local Chapter President confirmed that employees were told they would only have a job until the fall. The company stated that the decision was not a reflection of the workforce's skills, performance, or commitment, but rather an opportunity to enhance supply chain resilience and maintain competitiveness. Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson called the closure a "slap in the face" to hardworking employees and expressed disappointment in the company's lack of communication.
