Huawei Mate XT 2: a $3,000 luxury trifold with wing-folds and a privacy screen
Huawei unveils the Mate XT 2, a premium China-only trifold starting around $2,980 for 16GB/256GB and edging up to $3,725 with higher storage and a privacy OLED option. Its design folds inward from both halves (a “wing-like” action) to protect a 10.1-inch interior display while maintaining a 6.5-inch exterior screen, and it features a 50MP main camera, 40MP ultrawide, and 50MP periscope with up to 3.5x optical zoom, plus an 8MP selfie cam for video calls. Powered by Huawei’s in-house Kirin 9050 Pro due to U.S. sanctions, the Mate XT 2 targets luxury buyers as Apple allegedly gears up for its foldable iPhone amid competing foldables from Samsung and Xiaomi.
