Long-lost war hero finally laid to rest after 73 years
The remains of US Army Cpl Luther Herschel Story, who died during the Korean War in 1950, have been identified through DNA samples and returned to his family for burial after 73 years. Cpl Story was awarded the Medal of Honour for his heroism during the war. His funeral will feature a police escort and military burial near his hometown of Americus, Georgia. His remains were recovered in 1950 but could not be identified at the time.
