MLB teams seek overdue fees from Diamond Sports in court battle.
The Texas Rangers have joined a motion from MLB, the Cleveland Guardians, and Minnesota Twins to compel Diamond Sports, owner of the Bally Sports Regional Networks, to pay the media fees owed since filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last month. Four teams have publicly disclosed they have not been paid by Diamond, which continues to broadcast their games and airs games for 14 MLB teams overall. The Rangers reportedly reached a 20-year, $3 billion rights agreement with Fox Sports Southwest, which Diamond purchased along with 18 other regional sports channels in 2019.
