Mark Downey, a 45-year-old father from Bolton, has been diagnosed with glioblastoma, a fast-growing brain tumor with a life expectancy of 12 to 18 months. After undergoing treatments through the NHS, his family is now raising funds for alternative treatments, including immunotherapy, which is not available on the NHS. They have raised almost £5,000 but need over £100,000 for the treatment, as immunotherapy is very expensive and not currently approved for treating brain tumors within the NHS.
