SK Hynix eyes US memory wafers with potential Intel deal
SK Hynix stock rose about 3% after Reuters reported the memory maker is in talks with Intel to potentially manufacture memory silicon wafers in the United States. SK Hynix said it is exploring options to strengthen global competitiveness, including leasing part of Intel's Ohio facility or pursuing a joint venture, but no decisions have been made. The move comes amid a U.S. push to onshore advanced semiconductor manufacturing, with Micron currently the only major memory wafer producer in the United States.
