Passenger’s bid for the cockpit ends in arrest as Frontier flight diverts to Miami
A Frontier Airlines flight from Puerto Rico to Chicago diverted to Miami after a 51-year-old passenger tried to open an emergency exit and enter the cockpit, then choked an off-duty flight attendant. Passengers and crew restrained him with flex cuffs and seatbelt extenders; he was taken into custody and charged with interference with flight crew and assault. The plane later resumed to Chicago, and the FAA notes a surge in unruly passenger incidents this year.
