Miami Library Chooses Historic VC-25A Air Force One as Centerpiece Over Qatar's 747
The Qatar-donated Boeing 747-8 was expected to be the library’s star attraction, but the centerpiece will be SAM 29000, the VC-25A Air Force One, displayed at the base of a new glass Miami library tower. The VC-25A is a fully functional airborne White House with a presidential suite and secure communications, while the newer 747-8 has been repurposed as Bridge Air Force One during the VC-25B program’s delays into 2028; the long‑term fate of the Qatar 747 remains undecided.
