The Wagner Mutiny: Divisions Deepen in Russian Opposition
The rebellion within the Wagner mercenary group has deepened divides within Russia's anti-Kremlin opposition, with exiled opposition figure Mikhail Khodorkovsky emerging as a vocal supporter of the group's leader, Yevgeny Prigozhin. However, allies of jailed Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny cautioned against pledging allegiance to either side. Khodorkovsky's support for Prigozhin drew criticism from other opposition members, including the Feminist Anti-War Resistance movement, who accused him of political opportunism and indifference to the danger posed to civilians. Navalny, who learned about the mutiny after the fact, placed the responsibility on Putin and warned of the potential for civil war.
