SAG-AFTRA and Studios Resume Negotiations, Strike Progress Possible
SAG-AFTRA has responded to the latest proposal from major studios as negotiations continue to end the actors strike. The union reduced its demand for a first-year increase in minimum rates from 11% to 9%, inching closer to the studios' position of 7%. However, there are still unresolved issues, including the use of artificial intelligence and revenue sharing. The studios have warned of potential delays in summer blockbusters and TV show cancellations if no deal is reached soon. Both sides are expected to resume negotiations on Friday.
