Indiana floods claim Delta High star; 18-year-old Matthew Morey among latest victims
Indiana police identified 18-year-old Matthew Morey, a Delta High School football star who was set to attend Purdue University, as the latest victim of central Indiana floods after he and three friends jumped from a bridge into the Mississinewa River; the other three were rescued, and Morey’s body was recovered days later as rescue efforts continued amid dangerous floodwaters, part of a disaster that authorities say has claimed multiple lives and prompted emergency responses at local, state, and federal levels.
