Jacob Morley Captured in Missouri After Nine-Day Multi-State Manhunt
Jacob Morley, a 28-year-old convicted murderer serving a life sentence in Tennessee, was captured by the Missouri State Highway Patrol on November 3 near Norborne, Missouri. He had escaped the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville, Tennessee, on October 25 by breaching a perimeter fence. The manhunt spanned nine days and multiple states, including Illinois and Missouri, before authorities located him using FLOCK camera technology and a second stolen vehicle. Morley was arrested without incident after his vehicle became stuck on a rural road. He faces charges for the 2022 murder of his coworker, Cody Birchfield, whose body was found in a box under Morley's home.
