Deptford Township Police Officer Dies 2 Months After Being Shot in Line of Duty
New Jersey police officer Robert Shisler died on May 9, 2023, due to complications from a gunshot wound he sustained on March 10, 2023, during a struggle with armed suspect Mitchell Negron. Shisler fatally shot Negron during the incident. The shooting remains under investigation by the state Attorney General's office. Shisler was born and raised in the town where he served as a police officer and lived there before his death.
