Anthropic Acquires One-Person Biotech Mithril to Advance Rare Disease Drug Discovery
Anthropic has acquired Mithril Medicine, a one-person biotech startup founded by Cody Tranbarger, to integrate its AI capabilities into early-stage drug development. The acquisition, disclosed on October 27, 2026, follows Mithril’s development of bispecific antibodies for rare muscular dystrophies using Claude to coordinate 11 external labs.
