Mets Officially Add Derek Falvey as Senior Advisor Amid Scouting Reforms
The New York Mets have officially hired former Minnesota Twins president Derek Falvey as a senior advisor of baseball operations. Simultaneously, the club promoted Kris Gross to assistant general manager of scouting. These moves follow owner Steve Cohen’s public statements about needing 'new voices' in the front office to balance the heavy analytics focus of current president David Stearns. The hiring aims to inject veteran experience and dissent into decision-making, particularly regarding player evaluations and roster construction, after a season marked by underperformance and the departure of star hitter Pete Alonso.
