Dolly Parton to be honored with new airport name in Nashville
Nashville’s Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority unanimously approved beginning the renaming of Nashville International Airport to Dolly Parton International Airport, with the final name still to be decided. The airport’s 3-letter code, BNA, will remain to honor Col. Harry S. Berry. The renaming is projected to cost $8–$10 million, funded by Metro, state, and airport resources, and will involve FAA administrative changes and signage updates. The board also plans to repeal Rule 2010-33, which barred posthumous naming, and the full process is expected to take six months to a year before travelers can book flights under the new name.
