Marvel x Magic: MTG Set Introduces Power-Ups, Teamwork and Plan-Driven Play
Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes adds several new mechanics: Power-up (one-shot creature boosts with +1/+1 counters and a discount if activated the turn the creature enters), Teamwork (instants/sorceries that require tapping creatures whose total power meets a number for extra effects), Plan enchantments with counters and rewards culminating in a final payoff, Connive (draw and discard with a +1/+1 counter if a nonland is discarded), and Modal Double-Faced Cards that transform. It also introduces thematic elements like Mjölnir (worthy, red/white legendary non-Villain creatures must meet requirements to wield) and The Mind Stone (mana ability, with an end-step trigger once harnessed). The set releases June 26 with preorders available.
