Tesla Upgrades Model 3/Y Wireless Chargers With Active Cooling and 50W Speed
Tesla is adding its actively cooled wireless charger (originally used in the Model Y L in China) to the Model 3 and Model Y lineup, boosting wireless charging from 15W to up to 50W and using fans to prevent overheating in hot conditions. The shared part aims to simplify production, though the Cybertruck may require a bespoke solution, and Qi2 compatibility is not included in this revision. The hardware has already shown compatibility in a refreshed Model Y with some programming.
