Several celebrities, including former Boston Bruins player Zdeno Chara and former Red Sox players Ryan Dempster and Brock Holt, participated in the 2023 Boston Marathon. Chara finished with a time of 3:38:23, while Dempster and Holt ran in support of the Lingzi Foundation and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, respectively. Tennis player Monica Puig, who is attempting to run all six major world marathons, finished with a time of 3:49:47. Elite women's runners Des Linden and Sara Hall also finished in the top 20 of the elite women's division.
